End of year at LTHT

The end of the year at LTHT is a time for us to look back and there was plenty to look back at the end of 2018.

We added hairdressing to the mix of skills available to girls

Here are some of the girls during the end of year lunch with their instructor.

We said goodbye to cohort two of the sewing workshop. The girls had the opportunity to show off their work.

After the day’s entertainment, we had lunch. What was remarkable about this day was how gifted the girls are.

We love these women from Rwentojo. These women were part of the second phase of our SEND A CHICKEN TO AFRICAN WOMAN program for ultra poor women.

These women’s story is touching. The first chicks we gave them died due to the avian flu. We re-issued the chicks and as they say, the rest is history. The women grew their micro farms through hard work and enterprise. When we caught up with them in December, they all had tales of  new enterprises that included pig farming, growing cereals and this money went towards paying schools fees, health care and in some instances repairs to the houses

We caught up with folks at the National Water and Sewerage company. We visited some of the beneficiaries of the water initiative such as  Godfrey Bamwesigye and his grandmother.
