Earlier this year we had a very important visitor at Ruhanga Community project, Hon Naome Kabasharira.
Hon Naome Kabasharira is a Member of Uganda’s Parliament and is responsible for women’s affairs in Ntungamo district where Ruhanga is located.
Below are some photos from that day
Hon Naome is taking a tour of the volunteers facilities and is introduced to various staff and volunteers
Hon Naome posses for a group photo with pupils from Ruhanga Development School as they wait to be fitted for new uniforms
Hon Naome, calls in on our in house seamstresses as they work on sample homemade sanitary towels
Up next- Hon Naome checks out the computer room as some of the volunteers share their skills with folks from the community
There is a lot of work to do here, this is meant to be part of the school play ground
It was interesting to note that all the children recognised Hon. Naome as their MP
Of all the facilities Hon Naome was shown, the school Library impressed her the most as this is the only school in the area that has such a facility
Hon Naome being introduced to the girls from the bike initiative
George Karamira, Headmaster from the girls secondary school showing Hon Naome around the Skills centre
I think Marion has just got her first customer! Hon. Naome distributes sanitary towels to the best students each year. A great opportunity for Marion, Agnes and the teams to supply Hon. Naome’s initiative. If the girls can pull that off….
Hon Naome in conversation with our longest serving volunteer Ian Emm. Ian has worked with the girls so sometime now and is credited with their bike repair skills
