NB If your flight arrives after mid-day it is recommended you stay in Kampala overnight. Cost for pick-up at airport, and being put on correct bus is £40 inc bus-fare or £50 overnight inc hotel. An escort on the bus down to the project can be organised for an extra £20. Direct transfer by private vehicle all way to Ruhanga is £200 (approx a 5 hour journey)

I understand that whilst every care is taken by staff, project managers and coordinators towards visitors and volunteers staying at Uganda Lodge, each person is ultimately responsible for their own safety whilst in Uganda.

Whilst staying at Uganda Lodge the donation for your accommodation is £40 per person per week, and with all meals provided the total cost is £70 per week. Meals consist mainly of local food and must be booked & paid in advance, it is not possible to order daily as you go. Full payment (or at least your first month) & airport pick-up fees are due with booking. Generally this is not refundable as all income to Uganda Lodge is allocated and used for building projects & upgrades.

Short or longer safaris can be organised on arrival. Vehicle hire with a driver is approx £50 per day plus fuel and drivers expenses; this can be shared between several guests. We may be able to obtain gorilla permits (£390 each) but these must be requested and paid for before you leave your home country.
All profits are used on local projects, our school & resource centre and to upgrade facilities at the Lodge.
